Inspired by Jill Munro’s poem Stitch Him Down
I wanted to create an image based on the senses. Turning words round to create literal meanings Jill’s ‘jasmine pearls’ become real pearls and the blue fabric becomes almost liquid as it emerges from the spout. The ‘silvered tea tray that’s seen so many days’ is depicted with an amber tinge one edge slightly battered. The ‘holes’ are mirrors which balance the light from the reflection in the pot.
